A collection of Devi's activist prose written between 1981 and 1992, including most of her articles in English, from journals and newspapers, several Bengali pieces in translation and editorials from 'Bortika', a Bengali quarterly she started in 1980 which offers poor peasants, factory workers, tribals and rickshaw-pullers to write about their lives and problems.
