Life of Pi by Yann Martel is an adventure story of Piscine Patel, nicknamed Pi, and a Bengal tiger named Richard Parker. It is a story of human and animal interactions. Pi is a young Indian boy whose father is a zoo owner. This book talks about his family, their faith in all religions and about experiences growing up with all kinds of animals. Pi's family decides to immigrate to Canada and they take with them most of the zoo animals to sell in North America. Unfortunately, their ship sinks. Pi sails on a boat in the Pacific Ocean, with a hyena, zebra, orangutan, and Richard Parker. The other animals die, only Pi and Richard Parker survive.
