Such a Long Journey is set in Mumbai, year 1971. The story is about life of Gustad Noble, a Parsi man, devoted to his family that includes his wife and three children. However his family begins to fall apart with daughter falling ill and son refusing to take admission after qualifying IIT exam. He receives a letter one day from an old friend, which slowly draws him into a dangerous network of deception. The novel charts the journey of this noble soul negotiating the difficult world around himself.
