Most of the people are unaware of the fact that Bhagat Singh was an atheist. When he was in Lahore central jail someone tried to convince him about existence of God, but failed. He was then ridiculed to have developed an ego. Reacting to this, Bhagat Singh later on penned down a letter explaining the reasons of his disbelief on the existence of an Almighty Supreme being. He mentioned that for the man who's in distress, the idea of god seems helpful to him but he was not amongst the lot who would pray to God only for their selfish motives.
