Around the World in Eighty Days

This classic, first published in 1873, is one of the most engaging travel adventure books of all times. The plot of the novel follows the journey of Phileas Fogg who bets with his friends that he could travel around the globe (remember its 1872) in 80 days. What follows is a race against time to travel through unknown places and unfamiliar cultures. Fogg is trailed by a Scotland Yard detective who believes that the former was involved in a bank heist and is trying to flee to a safe place. The novel has been translated in many languages and has also been adapted for movies, plays, TV series and radio programs.
