Richelle Mead's Bloodlines series is a spin-off of her Vampire Academy series. In this first installment of the Bloodlines series, the story takes place shortly after Vampire Academy ends. Sydney Sage is an alchemist, humans who act as a link between the worlds of humans and vampires through magic. Alchemists need to protect the secret of vampires and human lives both. In this story the Alchemists group get involved and put Sydney in a plan for the safety of Morai princess Jillian Dragomir. In order to protect her, Sydney has to start living with vampires, her worst nightmare. Filled with numerous secrets, intrigues, and plotting, it makes for an interesting read for fantasy lovers.
