Blue Shoes and Happiness' is another book from Alexander Mccall Smith who has given millions of readers a real taste of life in Botswana. It is a little African country with an amazing history. In this novel of the distinguished series No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency, Precious Ramotswe and her shrewd assistant Mma Makutsi, have several mysteries to resolve. The story has animal tales, a nasty blackmail plot, challenges in Mma Makutsi's engagement and many reflections on the true nature of happiness by Precious Ramotswe. It is almost a series of short stories but Smith ties them together like a lovely flowing novel.
