Rai Bahadur Mohan Singh Oberoi was born in a small village in Punjab. His career journey began at Simla's Cecil Hotel where he had an average wage of 50 rupees per month. Clearly, he was determined to move from the bottom and generate something resourceful in his life. This is when he put all his blood, sweat and tears into starting his first hotel- Clarkes. Decades later, this person who received 50 rupees per month, owned The Oberoi Group which delivered twenty eight hotels and four luxury Nile cruisers.
