A rich account of India's modern history

- As someone belonging to Gen-Z, this book was an eyeopener. I had little or no clue about the incidents that took place in the forty to fifty years of post-independence India. - The book is a great guide to understand how India transformed socially, economically, and politically over the decades. It's a comprehensive account of India's growth and how it managed to survive despite immense diversity. - It was insightful to know about the values on which this great nation started its journey after breaking free from centuries of colonialism. Particularly commendable was the stress that the nascent nation's founders put on the values of secularism, freedom of speech, equality, and democracy- values that seem to be somewhat under threat today. - It's a great book for anyone who's curious about India's past.
