Osamu Tezuka is the master of Japanese manga comics. Using the historical figures and people of his own imagination, this book gives a broad outline around the history of the Buddha's life and his principles. It depicts the conflicting emotions of prince Siddhartha running away from home, traveling across India. He observes ancient Hindu practices like self-mutilation and caste system. He questions the origin and suffering of these practises, with a strong desire to put an end to all this suffering.
