This book draws attention to the issue of improvisation prevalent in India, rather than innovation which should be the case. This situation holds back from making any progress. The author provides examples of 11 Indians who went ahead and made amazing innovations possible. They include the watch company, Titan who were credited with making the slimmest water-resistant watch in the world; Shantha BioTech, a bio-technology company which developed a low cost vaccine for Hepatitis B; the Trichy police who came up with new policing principles to tackle crime and transform the city. Through these examples, the book stresses that ground breaking innovation are and have been made possible by thinking out of the box.
