'One Night at the Call Centre' is Chetan Bhagat's novel based on one night in the lives of six employees at 'Connexions Call Centre' in Gurgaon. Shyam, Priyanka, Radhika, Esha, Vroom and the anonymously named Military Uncle, each face troubled times in their respective lives. Shyam is heartbroken from a recently-ended relationship, Radhika has a cheating husband, Esha longs to be a successful model, Priyanka is being forced into an arranged marriage, Vroom is disillusioned and Military Uncle is old and alone. Living with their own problems, they are constantly working in a competitive, pressurised atmosphere, talking to millions of international customers, when one night, on Thanksgiving Day, they get a mysterious call from a stranger. This call is meant to change their lives. This contemporary Indian story is a perfect mix of romance and humour, with a nice twist for an end.
