This is the story about the third battle of Panipat (1761) between Marathas of central India and Ahmed Shah Abdali, the then ruler of Delhi. The battle resulted in a disastrous loss for Marathas and had severe long term implications for India as a whole. The book interestingly brings out a whole lot of details about the events leading up to the battle and also sheds light on the key characters involved in the entire episode.
