The page turner moves swiftly through romantic associations and thrilling chases involving politicians, government agents, mafiosi and so on. The novel was adapted into a popular TV mini series in 1983. Closer home, Rajavinte Makan (Malayalam) and Aahuti (Telugu) adaptations were huge box office successes.
