Red Dragon and The Silence of the Lambs

Hannibal Lecter is an astounding psychiatrist but at the same time, a notorious serial killer known for practicing cannibalism. With the fabrication of this character, Thomas Harris has created a franchise with stories revolving around this fictitiously unique man. 'Red Dragon and The Silence of the Lambs' contains the first two books in the Hannibal series, as the name suggests. 'Red Dragon' is a thriller based on the killings by a serial murderer who is called 'The Tooth Fairy'. He is known for wiping out families altogether on full moon nights. Will Graham, the officer whose rise-to-fame came after his arrest of Hannibal Lecter is persuaded to deal with the case. However, dealing with another psychotic criminal forces him to revisit Lecter and his case which has mentally scarred the officer for life. The sequel to the first, 'The Silence of the Lambs', is a story about FBI trainee, Clarice Starling's regular encounters with Lecter when she is made a medium of seeking help from the genius killer to help track down another psychological killing mastermind 'Buffalo Bill'. 'Bill' shows a trend of abducting and starving obese women before killing them brutally. The field of criminal psychology got a makeover with the publishing of the Hannibal Lecter series. A thriller with elements of suspense and horror, 'Red Dragon and The Silence of the Lambs' combines the two works under one head for any avid reader.
