That thing called love is written in the backdrop of Mumbai rains. Mayank, Anil and Vishal are working for a matrimonial website having problems with their own life partners. Mayank reluctantly agrees for an arranged marriage after he fails to find himself a life partner. However he seems to find true love in a married older woman. Vishal is a senior journalist who doesn't think twice before betraying his wife for other women. The last one, Anil is frustrated with his wife who continuously cries for a past broken relationship of hers which eventually creates a drift among them. This novel explores bitter-sweet relationships in the contemporary urban set-up of Mumbai.
