The Blue Umbrella


Binya is a poor little girl staying in a small village of Himachal Pradesh. She is smitten by a beautiful blue umbrella owned by a rich family in the village. Luckily she acquires the captivating blue umbrella in exchange for her lucky leopard's claw pendant. And from that moment, the umbrella becomes her rich possession. Slowly the umbrella becomes a center of attention for all in the village. Everyone in that village starts craving to own that umbrella. Especially Ram Bharose, a shopkeeper has his eyes set on it. But Binya never wants to part with her umbrella. This story talks of the life in a village and the ordinary yet vivid characters of its people.
