The novel narrates the story of a non-Jewish man's obsession with Jews and his unsuccessful attempt at becoming one. The book has its share of comic, dark humour while it handles various issues related to Jewish identify, the Palestine movement and other associated issues. The book won the Man Booker prize in 2010.
