The Grand Sophy is a romantic novel set up in 1816. When Sophy's father has to move to South America on diplomatic business, he leaves his only daughter with his sister's family. Amongst other things, the novel is also about Sophy's cousins and family, and her ingenous plans in dealing with everyone's problems. Although the novel is fixed in time and place, the heroine is far modern. With all characters uniquely built, the story is amazingly humourous and witty.
