One of Fitzgerald's finest works, this book is based on the times of the Jazz Age. Through the eyes of Nick Carraway, the reader is taken into the story of Jay Gatsby, a self-made millionaire who throws lavish parties in his towering mansion in the hopes of meeting the love of his life, Daisy Buchanan — Nick's cousin. Set amdist the backdrop of the New York skyline, Fitzgerald also exemplifies on the country's everlasting fixation on money, power and ambition. With the glorious rise and heartbreaking fall of Jay Gatsby, this book tells an admonishing tale about the "American Dream". "The Great Gatsy" is without a doubt a classic of American literature from the first world war period and is one of the most acclaimed novels of the twentieth century.
