Murder at the Vicarage marks the debut of female detective Miss Jane Marple in Agatha Christie's novels. Colonel Protheroe is shot dead in the head. He is one person who is hated by all in town and all seem to have a reason to have him dead. While two people confess to crime and there are seven suspects, Miss Marple has to use her detective mind to determine the facts of the case.
