This is a collection of two works of fiction by HG Wells viz. Time Machine and The War of the Worlds Time Machine is a 1895 science fantasy that popularized the idea of time travel among the masses. The plot itself revolves around the time-travels undertaken by a Time Traveller through his Time Machine that helps him visit different times in future and return back to the present. The genre 'science fiction' came into limelight with the revelation of the book, The War of the Worlds. We always wonder how life would be on Mars, and what kind of creatures live there. The War of the Worlds talks about the invasions of combative creatures from Mars, how they travel through the lands using strange looking transports, how they used heat rays to demolish buildings and kill everything that came by their path. The readers of the Victorian Era were scared by this story. The narrator gives us an insight into this Martian invasion and the ways he tried to save himself from being one of the victims, and finally manages to escape the destruction that the world has faced in the wake of the invasion. This book continues to be a treat to those looking for a blood rushing, intense and a fun read.
