Whitethorn Woods

This 2006 book by Maeve Binchy centers around St Anne's Well which is threatened by the planned highway that cuts through the sleepy town of Rossomore. The Well is revered by many as the source of sacred protection for the town. At the same time, many people are enthused by the progress that the proposed highway is likely to bring. The town's young priest, Father Flynn, decides to hear the views of every one in the town before making his own opinion. The narration brings together many stories related to the Well with wit and warmth, in trademark Binchy style and makes for a pleasurable read.
